Deputation

In July and the first week in Aug, we were in thirteen churches in Washington, Oregon, Montana, and New Mexico. We are at 98% currently! We have only 3 more churches scheduled before leaving for the Czech Republic!

Family

Steele has an appointment with an immunologist this month, but he did have to drop out of college for this year. He was able to get in with a new doctor who did a visual blood test on him and has determined that he has lyme disease and bartonella. He will start getting treatment for this and it will hopefully help him get back to functional.

Lisa and Nathan continued their childless state until their oldest asked Lisa to come and get their granddaughter. So, Lisa flew to Texas and picked her up and joined Steele, Makayla, and her parents in Colorado, leaving Nathan in Montana. On the way back to Colorado to pick them up, the trailer blew a tire and Nathan was stranded for a while in Wyoming before finally getting to Colorado. Then, three and a half hours from getting back home to Texas and no longer living in our fifth wheel, a leaf spring broke and we were stranded for a day in Roswell, NM. But now we have made it home!

Moving to the Czech Republic

We are still waiting on our visas. They are finally getting processed. However, Makayla’s passport was returned to the Czech Embassy rather than being delivered. We expect problems with dealing with government agencies, but USPS was not the one that we thought would give us the most grief.

We are still moving forward with our plans. With airline miles that we have accrued, we were able to purchase Nathan a ticket to go over to Brno August 11th - 16th to get the apartment keys and set up as much as possible before the girls come. We will all be moving on August 25th, Lisa and Nathan will start Language school on September 1st, and Makayla will start her school September 3rd.

Thank you all who have helped us through deputation and who gave to our start up fund. We have received everything that we need for start up and are excited to stop talking about the work in the Czech Republic and start doing it!
